LUDHIANA: Civic officials have served notices to 29 dairy owners for running their units illegally in residential areas. According to MC officials, dairy owners do not listen to their instructions and keep throwing cow dung and other waste into the sewerage, making it necessary to take action against them. The owners of these units have been given time until Monday, after which MC will snap the sewerage connections of those refusing to move out. He said such illegal dairies were choking the sewerage lines, because no separate arrangements have been made by the owners.Notably, according to an old survey conducted by MC, there were around 352 dairy complexes scattered in residential areas. This number might have increased, because the survey was conducted several years ago.
