Now get milk tested free of cost in dairy department’s offices and training centres

LUDHIANA: In order to ensure consumption of safe and healthy products under Tandrust Punjab mission, the Punjab Dairy Development Board (PPDB) has decided to offer free milk testing facility in its offices and training centres across the state. Once started, citizens can visit any centre to get their milk sample tested between 9am and 11am free of cost.The facility will be offered in PDDB’s offices, training centres throughout the district and officers have been exhorted to get a maximum number of milk samples tested. Experts from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Science University are also sharing the valuable aspects of milk and other products besides information about various schemes of the state government, Hans revealed. They have been directed to send a daily report to the headquarters in this regard.Deputy director (dairy) Dilbag Singh Hans said that the board has also given training to the officials about the procedure of milk testing at the State Food and Drug Laboratory, Kharar.Moreover, the board would regularly hold awareness seminars in villages to disseminate information milk, its products and the maintenance of quality and care of the cattle.
