The latest song was released on August 12, close on the heels of a rebellion in the AAP, triggered by the removal of Sukhpal Singh Khaira as the leader of opposition. "But when we got to know the reality of AAP's Delhi leaders and Mann, we decided to record the kavishri," he added. "Musaafir said he and those who collaborated with him were supporters of AAP and considered Mann a hero. The song goes onto claim that Mann schemed against leaders of his party and blocked the entry of Navjot Singh Sidhu and Pargat Singh into AAP.While the earlier kavishri was recorded by the jatha (group) of Jaswinder Singh Shaant, Kaveeshar Makhan Singh Musaafir and his two associates sung the latest release. For Chatha and Musaafir, AAP's leaders have turned out to be what they did not expect them to be.

JALANDHAR: From being eulogized in 2015 to getting the brickbats now, the AAP MP from Sangrur , Bhagwant Mann, has found himself being the subject of yet another kavishari, a Punjabi folk-singing style. Unlike a previous track which glorified Mann, the latest one draws a rather embarassing picture of him. While a kavishari released in 2015-16 had words of praise for the comedian-turned-politician and warned him against SAD patriarch Parkash Singh Badal and his political acumen, the latest one is a satire taking a jibe at Mann's aspirations of becoming a CM, but being reduced to a comedian. Calgary-based writer Makhan Singh Chatha, an AAP supporter, has penned the lyrics of both the kavishris.Like the earlier kavishri, which had the lyrics "bach ke, Bhagwant Manna, Bapu Badal bada khidaari' (beware, Bhagwant Mann, Badal senior is an astute politician), the latest track - with lyrics "tu ban na CM ci, Manna riha jhande da Jhanda" (you wanted to become the CM, but Mann is still Jhanda) - has become a hit in Punjab and is being shared widely on social media.'Jhanda' is a popular comic character which Mann played in his comedy shows and took digs at social issues, the system and politicians. The latest song was released on August 12, close on the heels of a rebellion in the AAP, triggered by the removal of Sukhpal Singh Khaira as the leader of opposition. For Chatha and Musaafir, AAP's leaders have turned out to be what they did not expect them to be. "After watching politics in Punjab closely, I havebeen yearning for a change. I followed AAP and saw the early signs of intra-party competition to which Mann was central. Though I had written this song in March last year, I sharpened it further after an audio tape was released in which he could be heard scheming against advocate H S Phoolka," Chatha said. "He is not different."Musaafir said he and those who collaborated with him were supporters of AAP and considered Mann a hero. "But when we got to know the reality of AAP's Delhi leaders and Mann, we decided to record the kavishri," he added.
