Ludhiana: Jagdeep Singh Rinkle’s family, seeking justice, will burn the effigies of Congress councillor Gurdeep Singh Neetu, and prominent Congress leaders in the city on Sunday. The family has alleged that Neetu was the mastermind behind Rinkle’s murder, and prominent city-based Congress leaders have been sheltering him.Rinkle’s brother Mani Khehra said Rinkle was killed in July, and even two months later, the police have not been able to trace Neetu. He said: “MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, MLA Surinder Dawar, and Sanjay Talwar are sheltering Congress councillor Neetu. This is the reason police have failed to trace him even after two months. Our demand is the arrest of Neetu and the other main accomplice, Sunny Nai. There is no use of arresting these gangsters who were hired to kill, until the mastermind is arrested.”Khehra said on Sunday afternoon, the family would burn the effigies of Neetu and other Congress leaders at different places in the city, and slogans would be raised against them to demand their quick arrest.On July 19, Rinkle was thrashed to death by Neetu’s son Jatinderpal Singh Sunny with the help of gangsters hired by him. Ludhiana police arrested Sunny, while three gangsters were being held by the counter intelligence wing in Jalandhar.
