Rajguru Nagar to get 4 recharge wells

Officials claimed there would be definite relief from water stagnation to area residents in the next rainy season. LUDHIANA: With an aim of reducing the problem of waterlogging on the main roads and markets of Rajguru Nagar, officials of Ludhiana Improvement Trust (LIT) are going to install rainwater harvesting wells at four locations. He said there was storm sewerage system installed in the area, but it could not help much, as it was further connected to the sewerage system of the area, and when there is heavy rainfall, the sewerage gets overflown. He demanded authorities to take this up on priority. Residents of the area have been raising this problem for a long time.A resident of the area and senior citizen BM Kalia said: “Ours is among the posh and costly areas of the city, but during every rainy season, the water stagnation creates problems for residents, especially at the entrance and main market area.” He said for the past several years, they were demanding a solution to this problem, but the previous councillor did not pay any attention to the area.Another area resident Ashok Gupta complained that right at the entrance of the locality, water stagnation was a major concern for residents living here, or even commuters who pass through this road.
