SAD, BJP leaders express concern over crime in Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: A delegation of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP ) leaders met senior police officials of the district, including the commissioner of police, and pressed upon them the need to increase PCR vigil in the city, and take quick action in the recent cases of loot and dacoity. A strict approach should be adopted by the police while dealing with anti-social elements, and an example should be set so that common people’s faith in law is restored.”Prominent leaders present on the occasion included Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria, Harbhajan Singh Dang, Gurmeet Singh Kular, Vijay Danav, Tanvir Dhaliwal, Jagbir Singh Sokhi, Jaspal Singh Giaspura, and Swinderpal Singh. It is a common practice that most traffic police personnel are busy issuing challans when people around them are stuck in hour-long jams.”He added: “We have apprised senior police officials about all these problems, and have demanded that law and order in the city should be ensured at any cost.
