Patiala police nab four interstate robbers, one flees

PATIALA: The police have nabbed four alleged interstate robbers and recovered illegal weapons and cartridges from their custody. The accused Gurjinder Singh works as a security guard in Saharanpur of Uttar Pradesh at a private complex and had purchased the weapon .315 bore for Rs10, 000. We had recovered a total of Rs 51, 000 and a mobile phone from the accused. He started committing robberies in Punjab and Ambala areas where cases against him were also registered. The bike we have confiscated today was also robbed off from Ambala Cantonment.

PATIALA: The police have nabbed four alleged interstate robbers and recovered illegal weapons and cartridges from their custody. The police said that the accused have been identified as Gurjinder Singh and Varinder Singh of Rasulpur Joda village, Gurbhej Singh of Saifadipur, Karamjit Singh of Safipur village in Sangrur, while their accomplice Roshandeep Singh of Hasampur village managed to escape.The police said they recovered two .315 bore weapons, four live cartridges a shap-edged knife and an iron rod from the accused.Besides weapons, the police have also recovered a splendor bike without number plate that was being used by the accused to commit robbery.The police said that in past a number of cases of robbery have been registered against Gurjinder Singh, Gurbhej and Varinder Singh in northern states including Punjab and Haryana The CIA Patiala in-charge Shaminder Singh said that a team under sub inspector Harinder Singh had installed a police barrier on a tip off and arrested the accused in Patiala while they were hatching a conspiracy to commit another robbery. He added that during interrogation the accused confessed that in September they had snatched a motorcycle from Ambala cantonment while in the same month they snatched another bike from Yamuna Nagar.“The accused had robbed a number of people including the truck drivers at gunpoint. We had recovered a total of Rs 51, 000 and a mobile phone from the accused. The accused Gurjinder Singh works as a security guard in Saharanpur of Uttar Pradesh at a private complex and had purchased the weapon .315 bore for Rs10, 000. He started committing robberies in Punjab and Ambala areas where cases against him were also registered. The bike we have confiscated today was also robbed off from Ambala Cantonment.", he added.
