Three Patiala women file dowry complaints

PATIALA: Women Patiala police have registered three cases of dowry harassment.In the first case, a Rajpura-based woman told cops that her husband and in-laws had been assaulting, harassing and pressurizing her to give dowry since November 2014, when she got married.Similarly, a woman resident of Patiala told cops that she was being harassed for dowry since March 2016.In her complaint , she said that her husband abused her and tortured her mentally and physically for dowry.In the third case, Bhadson police booked three persons under various sections of cheating and dowry demand on the complaint of a woman resident of Simbro village.The complainant alleged that the accused married her and took 170 grams of gold and other things in dowry from her parents.She added that her parents paid for his foreign trip too, however, when the accused returned from the foreign tour, he got married to someone else.
