LUDHIANA: Khanna police on Thursday arrested two drug peddlers after recovering eight and half kilograms of Charas from their possession. The accused were identified as 26-year-old Nasrudin of Shivrajpur in West Chaparan of Bihar and 23-year -old Saban Kumar of the same area.Giving details, SSP Khanna , Dhruv Dahiya said that they have started a special campaign against the Drug Trafficking and misdemeanors. He added that during this campaign police party was present at Hi-Tech Nakabandi G.T Road in Doraha for checking the Suspected Vehicles and persons.Police officials said that during checking, police party saw two persons coming from Bus-Stand Doraha side on foot. They added that after seeing the police party, they started walking towards service-lane Doraha.Police said that on the suspicion, police party stopped them for checking purpose. It added that during questioning, the accused were identified as Nasrudin and Saban. Cops said that DSP Headquarter Mukesh Kumar was also present on the spot during the checking of the duo. They added that on the frisking of their bags, 5 Kg 500 gms of charas was recovered from Nasrudin’s bag and 3kg of charas was recovered from the Saban Kumar’s bag.SSP said that a case under sections 20/61/85 of NDPS Act was registered against the accused at Doraha police station and they were arrested. He added that the accused are still being questioned and there is a possibility of major disclosures.
