Ludhiana: The police here have booked a Mohali resident for allegedly uploading morphed pictures of former Mrs Punjab title winner and posting vulgar comments on it. The accused had shared these photos on Instagram, following which she lodged a complaint with the police.The police registered a case on Monday after four months of investigation under sections 509 (Words, gesture or act intended to insult modesty of woman) of the IPC, IT Act and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.The complainant alleged that she received a message on Instagram from a person claiming himself to be a photographer and editor. He asked her to share her pictures which he would edit and asked for picture credit in return. Later, the accused also demanded the picture of her feet, however, she became suspicious and denied sharing the photos. Minutes later, the accused sent nude morphed pictures to the complainant.The complaint was sent to the cyber cell of Ludhiana police which investigated the matter. During the probe, it was found that the accused runs a page on Facebook called ‘Feet like rose’. Since the woman is a title winner of Mrs Punjab, the accused wanted to use her pictures on the page for promotion.SHO Brij Mohan said that an FIR has been lodged on the inquiry of the cyber cell. The police will arrest the accused soon.
