Rs 2.8L illegally withdrawn from man’s account, one booked

Tribune News ServiceLudhiana, June 17The police have booked an unidentified person after a city resident complained of unauthorised withdrawals of Rs2.8 lakh from his bank account. In his complaint, Nirmaltej Singh of Model Town said he came to know that Rs2.8 lakh were transferred from his account to two different accounts between March 1 and March 5, 2019, by an unidentified person. However, Rs40,000 was deposited back into his account on March 13, he told the police. In his complaint to the police on March 7, he said: “After investigation, it came to light that someone cloned his ATM card and withdrew the money,” said Investigating Officer, ASI Rajinder Singh. A case under Section 420 of the IPC has been registered against unidentified accused at Model Town police station.
