2 booked for abetment to suicide

The suspects have been identified as Ajay, a resident of Chawni Mohalla, and Peter, a resident of Bhora village. The suspects to whom his brother owed some money had snatched Bullet motorcycle from him, he added. “The suspects had threatened my brother not to return his motorcycle if he did not arrange money. My brother made efforts to arrange money throughout the day, but in vain,” brother of the deceased alleged.

Ludhiana June 21 The Salem Tabri police have booked two persons on the charge of abetting suicide of a 36-year-old man. The suspects have been identified as Ajay, a resident of Chawni Mohalla, and Peter, a resident of Bhora village. The suspects are into finance business. The deceased has been identified as Victor Masih. Complainant Elban Masih of Bharti Colony told the police that on June 15, his brother had gone to work on his Bullet motorcycle. The suspects to whom his brother owed some money had snatched Bullet motorcycle from him, he added. “The suspects had threatened my brother not to return his motorcycle if he did not arrange money. My brother made efforts to arrange money throughout the day, but in vain,” brother of the deceased alleged. On June 19, Victor consumed some poisonous tablets and was immediately rushed to a nearby charitable hospital from where doctors referred him to the DMC Hospital, Elban said while adding that his brother succumbed in the wee hours of June 20. “When I was taking my brother to hospital, he told me that Ajay and Peter had snatched his motorcycle as he failed to return their money. Due to their pressure, he took the extreme step to end his life,” he claimed. Investigation officer, ASI Prem Singh, said raids were on to nab the suspects.
