10-year jail term for sodomising minor

Legal CorrespondentLudhiana, August 20The court of Additional Sessions Judge Rashmi Sharma has convicted Pardeep alias Deepa of Nanak Pura, Salem Tabri, on the charges of sodomising a minor boy. According to the complainant, he was a driver and had two children —nine-year-old boy and five-year-old girl. The son was studying at the Dana Mandi school and the 19-year-old accused was living with his family in a nearby house. The complainant said his son told him that the accused had sexually harassed him multiple times in two months. The court, after going through detailed evidence, witnesses and arguments of both sides, found the accused guilty.

Legal Correspondent Ludhiana, August 20 The court of Additional Sessions Judge Rashmi Sharma has convicted Pardeep alias Deepa of Nanak Pura, Salem Tabri, on the charges of sodomising a minor boy. He has been ordered to undergo 10 years rigorous imprisonment. A fine of Rs 60,000 has also been imposed upon the convict. Of the total amount, Rs 50,000 shall be paid to the victim as compensation. On November 11, 2016, the Salem Tabri police had registered booked the accused under Section 377 of the IPC and Section 4 of the POCSO Act, on the complaint of the father of the nine-year-old boy. According to the complainant, he was a driver and had two children —nine-year-old boy and five-year-old girl. The son was studying at the Dana Mandi school and the 19-year-old accused was living with his family in a nearby house. The complainant said his son told him that the accused had sexually harassed him multiple times in two months. During trial, the accused pleaded innocence and claimed false implication in the case. The court, after going through detailed evidence, witnesses and arguments of both sides, found the accused guilty. Fine imposed
