Ludhiana, August 22 The Jallianwala Bagh Centenary Commemoration Exhibition (1919–2019) will be organised at Guru Nanak Bhawan in Ludhiana from August 24 to September 3. While giving this information, Pari Baishya, Operations Officer, Partition Museum, Amritsar, and The Arts and Cultural Heritage Trust, New Delhi, said this exhibition was the result of collaboration between the Punjab Government and Partition Museum, Amritsar. The initiative for this multimedia exhibition came from the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh, Minister of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Employment Generation, Tourism & Cultural Affairs Charanjit Singh Channi, with the active support of Principal Secretary Vikas Pratap and Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board, MS Jaggi. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Agrawal on Saturday. Additional Deputy Commissioner Iqbal Singh Sandhu and Assistant Commissioner Poonam Preet Kaur will also be present on the occasion. The exhibition is open to public till September 3 and has free entry. After exhibiting in Ludhiana, it will thereafter travel to three other cities in Punjab; Bhatinda, Patiala and SAS Nagar (Mohali) over the next few months. The exhibition focuses on the history of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The Partition Museum’s research has uncovered a number of original materials in the form of newspapers, reports and photographs from that time. This exhibition draws all of this into a larger historical narrative that begins with the events leading up to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre and ends with a look at its aftermath.
