He laid emphasis on physical fitness and discussed courage being an essential element in self-defence. Principal Manjit Kaur Ghuman said such sessions were extremely important in today’s scenario. Taekwondo coach Surjit demonstrated various techniques to protect oneself. He laid emphasis on physical fitness and discussed courage being an essential element in self-defence. Principal Manjit Kaur Ghuman said such sessions were extremely important in today’s scenario. MSc (Fashion Designing) Sem-II results Declaration of MSc (Fashion Designing) Semester-II results by Panjab University, Chandigarh, was a matter of pride for Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town. Inderpreet Kaur clinched first position in the university by securing 99 per cent, Varunpreet Kaur stood second with 94.4 per cent and Harsha Bali bagged third position with 94 per cent. Gurpreet Kaur, Harsimrran Kaur Sond, Divyansha Malhotra, and Janvi Goswami have secured fifth, seventh, eighth and ninth position in the university by securing 91.4 per cent, 90.6 per cent, 90.4 per cent and 90 per cent, respectively. Principal Charanjit Mahal congratulated the faculty and students for their success. Freshers’ Party A freshers’ party was organised by the departments of computer science and business management of the Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines. It was a theme-based celebration. The show was a blend of cultural items and foot tapping performances. Ramp walk for students of first year was also organised. Shivani and Diksha were crowned Miss Fresher from the department of computer science and department of business management, respectively. Swachhta Pakhwada Observed Under the aegis of Sri Guru Hargobind Ujjagar Hari Trust, the NSS unit of the Khalsa College for Women, Sidhwan Khurd, observed Swachhta Pakhwada. The programme was inaugurated by the Principal Rajwinder Kaur Hundal. She addressed the NSS volunteers and encouraged them to participate actively in all activities organised under the programme. Participants took a Swachhta Shapath and engaged in various activities. A one-day seminar on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, cleaning the campus, door-to-door campaign and plantation drive at Sidhwan Khurd village were organised. lecture on gender diversity A lecture on gender diversity in business organisations was organised at the Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women. Dipty Chander, president, E-mma (France), was the resource person. E-mma is an international organization whose head office is in Paris and has 17 branches across the world. She talked about the situation of women in technology and how to bring more diversity in this field. Greater gender diversity in technology can impact businesses bottom lines as indicated by research studies, which can boost profits and increase productivity, she said. World Mosquito Day celebrated The department of zoology of the Governemnt College for Girls, celebrated World Mosquito Day under the aegis of Principal Manju Sahni. Students of BSc-III (Medical) acquainted hostlers and workers with various kinds of mosquitoes and their diseases through posters. Students also explained safety measures related to it. TNS AS Group Student brings laurels Khanna: Manjot Kaur, an MBA student at the AS Group of Institution has made the institution proud by securing the profile of HR executive at Scrumms Systems Private Limited.
