Our CorrespondentAhmedgarh, September 9Residents of Jand, Jurahan and Ranguwal villages on Monday staged a protest against frequent power cuts. They urged the authorities in the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) to ensure uninterrupted power supply at least during summer days. The Sub Division Officer at Pakhowal village said maintenance work was the main reason behind the power cuts and scheduled cuts were allowed for installation of new poles and replacement of conductors by employees of contractors undertaking the strengthening work. Residents led by Hakam Grewal lamented that despite repeated complaints, the authorities at the PSPCL office had failed to provide uninterrupted power supply.
