Tax structure revolutionised by GST: Experts

Tribune News ServiceLudhiana, September 13A one-day workshop on Goods and Services Tax (GST) was conducted at SCD Government College for students of BCom, BBA, MCom and MCom (BI) today. Vishal Garg, a chartered accountant and former vice-chairman of the Northern India Regional Council (NIRC), was a keynote speaker. Garg explored various aspects of the GST and elucidated various doubts holding in the minds of the students. He said the GST was a destination-based and supplies-based tax which had brought transparency and vividness in the Indian tax structure. He also explained the system of filing return, and with examples, explained the software-based system.
