Ludhiana, September 17The National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad, in collaboration with Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI), Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, organised a two-day training-cum-sensitisation programme on agricultural marketing and schemes of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare. The programme aimed at mobilising various government agencies, educational institutes, private players and NGOs working in agriculture and allied sectors and making them aware about their important role in the implementation of government-sponsored schemes at the grassroot level. Shalendra, deputy director from MANAGE, discussed government schemes, namely Agri-clinics and Agri Business Centres (ACABC), Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers (DAESI) and Skill Training for Rural Youth (STRY). He said these schemes were sponsored by the Ministry and were being implemented in Punjab through PAMETI. HS Dhaliwal, director, PAMETI, told participants to register their respective institutes as Nodal Training Institutes (NTIs) to implement these programmes.
