Harshraj Singh Ludhiana, September 21 The campus of Shree Atam Vallabh Jain College, Hussainpura, buzzed with entertaining and enlightening activities on the occasion of a “Campus Buzz” programme organised by The Tribune on the college premises today. On this occasion, senior students of the college organised a freshers’ party to welcome the new faces of graduate and post graduate classes. Fun, dance, comedy and various other activities marked the programme. Students learnt lessons in camaraderie, optimism and team spirit during the programme. The function started by offering prayers to the Almighty with Navkar Mantra, followed by a lamp-lighting ceremony by the coordinator and principal of the college. Seniors did all that it takes to make the newcomers feel at home by throwing a party for them. The function was a blend of singing, freestyle dance, bhangra, solo and group dances, and modelling. The fresher’s batch was also not behind in giving splendid performances. All the events were artistically and beautifully presented in colours as well as style. The audience was kept enthralled by mind-blowing performances and spirit of bonhomie and friendship echoed during the event. The events included ‘Bhanda’, trio dance, solo song by Navjot Singh, solo dance by Akash, modelling by boys and girls, solo song by Hritik and Karan, mimicry, various dance events by Ishika Sakshi and Isha Jain, question answers, bhangra by boys and girls, stand-up comedy and others were showcased. Ansh Jain was declared Mr Fresher while Sonali Rana was Ms Fresher. The title of Prince Charming went to Gurpreet Singh while Best Attire was awarded to Chhavi. Saavan Khurana bagged Handsome Hunk and Miss Fashion Icon was won by Tanishka Aggarwal. The award for Mr Perfect Beard was given to Kartik Sharma and title of Ms Elegant went to Ishika Jain. The president of the college managing committee, Ashok Jain; Narinder Jain, general secretary; Avinash Jain, administration secretary; HR Saini, coordinator; and principal Rishi Kesh welcomed the students and congratulated the winners. “These years are life-changing years for you. There is no substitute of hard work. Hard work is the only key to success,” said the principal.
