Athletes pledge to inculcate sportsman

Khanna, November 16Sacred Heart Convent Senior Secondary School, Khanna, organised annual athletics meet for students on November 13 and 14, 2019. The first event of the meet was the march past, followed by an oath taken by athletes pledging to inculcate the spirit of sportsmanship. They competed with each other in various events such as 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 600 m, 800 m races, three-legged race, lemon and spoon race, sack race, balloon race, pot race, skipping, slow cycling, obstacle race, relays, jumps and throws. Rev Fr Davis Alapet was the chief guest and Michael Patrick was the guest of honour at the opening ceremony and Emmanual Nahar, professor in political science, USOL, PU, was the chief guest, while Rev Fr Xavier T, chairman, Diocesan Board of Education, Jalandhar, graced the closing ceremony as the guest of honour. The day concluded with the prize distribution.
