Former GM of City Bus Service booked

Kuldip BhatiaLudhiana, November 17The police have registered a case of misappropriation of funds and criminal breach of trust under Sections 409, 465, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC against Baljeet Singh, former general manager (GM) of Ludhiana City Bus Service. In a complaint lodged with the police, Sanyam Aggarwal, Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation-cum-managing director, City Bus Service of the civic body, stated that Baljeet Singh was with the City Bus Service for the last more than 10 years. The police said a case was registered after a preliminary investigation, which prima facie established allegations against the suspect. The complainant told the police that he paid Rs 8.90 crore as consideration amount of the property to the suspect. “However, the suspect neither got the sale deed registered in my favour nor did he return my money,” the complainant added.

He said the suspect had misused his official position as general manager of the company and drawn Rs 9 lakh from funds of the company on the basis of forged and fabricated documents. The police said a case was registered after a preliminary investigation, which prima facie established allegations against the suspect. “A search has been launched to apprehend the suspect,” the police added. In yet another incident of fraud and cheating, the police have registered a case under Sections 420, 465, 467, 468 and 471, IPC, against Harish Singh Bhalla, a resident of Model Town locality, on the complaint of Vinod Punanini, a resident of Maharani Jhansi Road. The complaint alleged that the suspect had signed an agreement to sell a plot measuring 504 square yards having shops constructed on it. The complainant told the police that he paid Rs 8.90 crore as consideration amount of the property to the suspect. “However, the suspect neither got the sale deed registered in my favour nor did he return my money,” the complainant added.
