Tribune News ServiceLudhiana, November 18The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEF & CC) has written to the chairman of the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) to release the state share to the Punjab Dyers’ Association (PDA) for the common effluent treatment plant at Tajpur Road, Ludhiana, at the earliest so that the ministry concerned can also release its matching share as per the state share released. Punjab Dyers Association General Secretary Bobby Jindal said the MOEF & CC has written to the PPCB regarding release of grants-in-aid to the PPCB for setting up of 50 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) by the Punjab Dyers Association at Tajpur Road, Ludhiana, under the Government of India ‘Pollution Abatement’ scheme for the financial year 2019-20. Jindal said, “The PPCB has to release the state share of Rs 7.5 crore to PDA before December 31 so that the MOEF & CC can also release Rs 15 crore subsidy to the PDA as per the NGT orders.”
