DPS celebrates Founder’s day

Priya Shergill, trustee, DPS; and Kunal Shekhri, member of management committee, DPS, were the guests of honour. The highlight of the day was ‘Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh’, a theatre production, which won a huge round of applause. Meritorious students were also honoured with DPS blazers and scholarships for outstanding performance in academics. Major General Sandhu encouraged students to dream big and work hard.

Our Correspondent Khanna, November 20 Delhi Public School celebrated its 9th Founder’s day. Major General Surat Sandhu was the chief guest on the occasion. Priya Shergill, trustee, DPS; and Kunal Shekhri, member of management committee, DPS, were the guests of honour. The event started with lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by an Indo-Western orchestra by students. Principal Mukherjee read the annual school report. A Kathak performance added charm to the programme. The highlight of the day was ‘Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh’, a theatre production, which won a huge round of applause. Various cultural events were also presented by students of all sections on the occasion to keep the audience entertained. Head mistress Neha Rattan was given the ‘Teacher of the Year’ award for her excellent performance. Meritorious students were also honoured with DPS blazers and scholarships for outstanding performance in academics. Major General Sandhu encouraged students to dream big and work hard. He advocated the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev and lauded the efforts of teachers for shaping the young minds to become responsible citizens. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
