Our Correspondent Ludhiana, December 2 Three motorcycles, one car and one scooter were reported stolen from different parts of the city while the police arrested Mandeep Singh, a resident of Harkrishan Nahar in Shimlapuri, with a stolen Activa scooter. The Model Town police have nabbed a snatcher, Mandeep Singh, from near Jaitley Chowk while he was going towards general bus stand to sell a stolen Activa scooter which did not have a number plate. Sub-Inspector Jaswinder Singh, who was on patrol duty near Mintgumery Chowk, had received a tip-off that the suspect, involved in many incidents of snatching, was taking a stolen two-wheeler with the intent of selling it. A case under section 379/411 of the IPC has been registered against the suspect and the stolen vehicle impounded. A Maruti Brezza car (PB-10HA-8334) was reported stolen by Vipin Chhabra, a resident of New Model Town from outside his residence on the night of November 29. The Division No. 5 police have registered a case under section 379 of the IPC in this regard. The two-wheelers reported stolen include an Activa scooter (PB-91-8921) from outside Jain Model School in Urabn Estate Phase. II, Jamalpur, and a motorcycle (PB-29K-5212) from the parking lot outside the Punjab College of Technical Education, Baddowal, one Hero Passion Plus motorcycle (PB-10BJ-8188) from outside Suvidha Centre in Rakh Bagh and another Hero Splendour motorcycle (PB-10EM-4013) from Urban Estate, Phase II, Dugri. The police have registered cases under section 379 of the IPC for theft of vehicles.
