LUDHIANA: Friendship with a Ludhiana-based cloth merchant over Facebook turned horror for a Delhi-based widow. The man allegedly raped her after winning her trust and calling her to Jaipur to join his business.Jaipur police have meanwhile arrested the 30-year-old trader, who is already married.In her compliant to police, the 27-year-old Delhi woman said her husband had died eight months ago and she got in touch with accused over social networking site in March. They started chatting and became friends. The trader told her that he has his business in Jaipur too and offered her to join his business to earn a living. When she agreed, they planned to visit Jaipur soon.On April 18, the trader went to Delhi in his car, picked the woman and reached Jaipur. After visiting a few market areas, the accused took her to a room at a hotel, which he had already booked.Talking to TOI over phone, Jalupura SHO Lakhma Ram said, "After reaching the hotel, the woman asked the trader in the evening to get her a bus to Delhi as she did not want to stay in the hotel. However, accused insisted her to stay for the night and told her that he would drop her home next morning. They had an argument over the as the woman stick to her decision. The woman found something suspicious and tried to walk out of the hotel, but the trader held her and raped her."After the incident, the woman raised an alarm and the police were informed.Jalupura police have booked the trader under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC.The SHO further said that the accused have confessed to his crime.April 10 | On the complaint of 21-year-old college student, a man was booked for attempt to rape and making her nude video. He had befriended her via Facebook. The accused had taken her to a hostel on Ferozepur road and attempted to rape herIn March, the Ludhiana trader and Delhi widow get in touch on Facebook. They started chatting and became friends.The trader offers her to join her business in Jaipur. As she agrees, they plan a trip to Jaipur.On April 18, the trader picks her up from Delhi and drives to JaipurThey go to a hotel after visiting a few markets in Jaipur. The woman wishes to go back to Delhi, but the trader insists her to stay. However, they have argument after which the trader rapes her.
