Minutes after arrest, vicious thief flees from police station

LUDHIANA: Minutes after arrest a vicious thief has ran away from the Police Station, Jamalpur , on Thursday late evening.According to information, the Jamalpur police have arrested a theif around 10pm and brought him to police station. Department action would be taken against the head constable Gurmukh Singh. Meanwhile, the police team received another complaint and by handing over the custody of thief to a head constable (munshi) Gurmukh Singh other cops left for spot.Meanwhile the thief asked head constable to go to loo. As soon as the constable took him near toilet the thief pushed him and ran away.The head constable and other cops gave a chase to thief however failed to nab him. "Further, ADCP Sharma also said that the search is on in the locality and thief would be arrested soon.

The notorious thief managed to escape by entering into a residential colony of Sector 32, Chandigarh road and police are searching the locality.Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP IV) Sandeep Sharma said, "The thief has fled due to the negligence of head constable. Department action would be taken against the head constable Gurmukh Singh."Further, ADCP Sharma also said that the search is on in the locality and thief would be arrested soon.
