Details of sealed buildings need to be submitted in 15 daysShivani BhakooTribune News ServiceLudhiana, April 29The Punjab and Haryana High Court has asked the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation authorities to submit the details of parking violators, who were granted status quo by the local courts, within 15 days. On April 25, taking a stern action against those violating the parking norms, the building branch of Municipal Corporation had sealed the parking lots of nearly seven buildings, which were using the parking space for other commercial purposes. The orders passed by Judge Rajan Gupta, on the last hearing of the COCP 2317 of 2016 issued on April 26, say the MC needs to submit details of the buildings, which had been sealed (the parking space being used for other purposes), along with the buildings which got status quo from local courts. At the same time many had gone to local courts to get stay orders on the issue and for this the MC authorities were condemned for “supporting” few, giving ample time to them for moving to the Court. The tough stand had to be taken by the Municipal Corporation a day before hearing of Contempt of Court Petition 2317 of 2016 in the High Court as the court had acted tough and had personally summoned the then Principal Secretary, Local Bodies, Satish Chandra.
