Bhutanese delegation visits PAU

Tribune News ServiceLudhiana, May 24A three-member delegation from the Bhutanese ministry of education, comprising NB Raika, Chief of Department of Adult & Higher Education; Baburam Sherpa, Chief of Scholarship Office; and Dolay Tshering, Senior Scholarship Programme Officer, visited Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) to discuss future avenues of admission for students from Bhutan. The meeting was also attended by Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering, Dr JS Mahal; Dean, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities & College of Home Science, Dr GK Sangha; Advisor, International Students, Vishal Bector; and Dr BS Sekhon from the College of Agriculture. While thanking the university for accepting students from Bhutan, Raika said, “We are very happy with the programmes being run by the university and look forward to acceptance of a bigger number of students by the PAU in the future.” The delegates were particularly interested in the curriculum of Soil and Water Engineering, Farm Power Machinery, Food Technology and prerequisites for admission to the same.
