Our Correspondent Khamano, June 27 A police-public meeting was organised at the Khamano Government Senior Secondary School by the Saanjh Kendra and the Khamano police. This meeting was organised to create awareness about drug abuse. The Khamano DSP was the chief guest on the occasion. He apprised the audience of ill-effects of drugs and talked about the steps being taken by the police to check the drug menace. He appealed to the public to be vigilant against drug smugglers. He said drug sellers would be dealt with sternly. He demanded cooperation from residents to control the menace. He said youths should take part in games than falling prey to drugs. Khamano SMO Rashmi Chopra highlighted the effects of drugs on society. Congress leader Ali Hussain also addressed the audience. Such meetings were also organised in Samrala and Khanna in which officials concerned told the public about the menace of drugs.
