Ludhiana, July 24 “One should live in the present and take care of health.” This was stated by a fashion stylist and ad-maker, Imam Siddique. While speaking about his success mantra after the workshop on fashion styling and personality development for INIFD students at Guru Nanak Bhawan today, he said, “It is our responsibility to take care of our health. What keeps me going is my faith in God.” He said, “I feel great for having come to Punjab. My father Amiruddin Siddique, who was dubbed as ‘the most dangerous centre-forward’ in hockey, has a lot of fellow players as friends in his game, who are from the state.” A self-made man, he added that he was asked to leave the house at the age of 16 by his father, as he refused to follow sports as a career. He also did not want to take the Staff Selection Commission examination, which infuriated his father. This would set a wrong example for the younger siblings, his father said. So, Siddique was on his own. He started working to earn a living for himself at the age of 16. His creative journey began early. He even won an award from the President of India at that time for his poem in English at the age of 12. Later, Siddique joined the advertising industry and worked with one of the leading ad agencies Lintas. He said, “I learn from life each day. I jot down daily happenings and lessons in my diary.” “When you write something down, it becomes permanent. That learning stands you in a good stead later on in the life,” he added. He said, “And for accomplishing anything I practice for it. Always practice before giving any speech. Practice makes a man perfect, and I live by this doctrine.” “I have now stepped into Bollywood and worked in a film “Hotel Beautifool”. I have played a double role of an Army commander and a money-lending pathan in this flick. I have also sung a song in the film along with singer Shaan,” Siddique added.
