‘No impact’To a query, he said matters within the local unit of the BJP in the neighbouring Kundapur Assembly constituency would not have any impact on Byndoor constituency. Speaking to presspersons here, Mr. Shetty said t though five rivers flow through the constituency, many parts of Byndoor experience water scarcity during the summer. Sukumar Shetty, Bharatiya Janata Party leader and an aspirant for the party ticket from Byndoor Assembly constituency, said recently that the constituency has remained backward not only in comparison to the rest of the the district but also to the State though K. Gopal Poojary, the Congress MLA, has been representing it for 18 years. No project to deal with the issue of water scarcity has been taken up, he said. Mr. Shetty also said that the saffron party had conducted internal surveys in the constituency and he was confident he would get the party ticket to contest from there.
