PWD minister sanctions Rs 25,000 per km for road repair

Of the Rs 19 crore, Rs 6 crore will be for the development of roads through PWD. Mangaluru: PWD minister H D Revanna said the department has decided to release Rs 25,000 per km for the repair of PWD roads , which are damaged due to rains.“We have discussed various issues with officials of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Meanwhile, deputy commissioner of Udupi Priyanka Mary Francis said a report on rain damage with a loss estimate of Rs 1.17 crore has been submitted.BoxExtent of damage due to rain in DKRoads damaged: 156.3kmLoss: Rs 4.51 croreBridges damaged: 9Loss: Rs 94 lakhPrivate buildings damaged: 406Loss: Rs 3.70 crore “I will convene a meeting of officials from National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and DC of DK in Bengaluru. Our priority is to make all roads free from potholes and construct drainages wherever required.
