Heavy vehicles banned onShiradi Ghat

Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil S. on Monday issued a notification banning heavy vehicles plying on the Shiradi Ghat stretch of Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway from 6 a.m. on Wednesday until further orders. The ban applies to heavy commercial vehicles, two-axle trucks, multi-axle trucks, truck trailers, bullet tankers, ship cargo containers, all types of government and private buses. However, light motor vehicles such as cars and vans and two-wheelers can use the highway, the notification said. The ban has been imposed to complete the pending works.
