Shiroor Mutt seer Lakshmivara Teertha Swami dies

Doctors said the swamiji had food poisoning. MANGALURU: Lakshmivara Teertha Swami of Shiroor Mutt in Udupi died due to suspected food poisoning on Thursday morning here.He was 55.He was admitted to the ICU of KMC , Manipal on Wednesday night after suspected food poisoning.According to mutt sources, he complained of severe stomachache after attending a Vanamahotsava programme on Monday. He, however, neglected it and didn’t take proper medication, which led to excessive vomiting. He was later rushed to KMC.
