MAHE to host national youth conference

The Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), in association with SyndicateBank, will organise the second national conference on ‘Youth in Social Change’ at the Dr. T.M.A. A number of resource persons will be present to share their experiences with the youth. The conference is being coordinated by student and faculty volunteers of Volunteer Services Organization, MAHE. On the opening day, resource persons Venkat Krishnan, founder, GiveIndia; Vivek Sharma, programme director, Gandhi Fellowship; Kanika Sinha, director, Outreach Community, and Madhu Veera Raghavan, director, T.A. Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, Narayana Sabhahit, Registrar of MAHE, said that over 700 students from 60 institutions across the country were expected to participate.

Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, Narayana Sabhahit, Registrar of MAHE, said that over 700 students from 60 institutions across the country were expected to participate. A number of resource persons will be present to share their experiences with the youth. The conference is being coordinated by student and faculty volunteers of Volunteer Services Organization, MAHE. Anup Naha, convener of the conference, said: “The conference aims to create a sense of philanthropy among students and to encourage them to directly participate in giving and eventually improve the well-being of society.” Abhishek, conference co-convener, said that the meet would focus on three themes: education, governance, and environment. On the sidelines of the event, activities such as poster presentation and Manipal Seva Mela would be held. On the opening day, resource persons Venkat Krishnan, founder, GiveIndia; Vivek Sharma, programme director, Gandhi Fellowship; Kanika Sinha, director, Outreach Community, and Madhu Veera Raghavan, director, T.A. Pai Management Institute will deliver lectures. The inaugural function will be held here at 5.30 p.m. on August 25.
