‘Coalition govt. will complete five years without a hitch’

Siddaramaiah, former Chief Minister, who openly batted for the coalition government, said the government would complete five years without any hitch. On the statement where he had reportedly said that he would become Chief Minister again, he said that he would become Chief Minister again only after the completion of this government. With regard to supporting former MLC Basanagouda Patil Yatnal in the last MLC elections, Mr. Patil admitted that he supported the victory of Mr. Yatnal. Defending his action, Mr. Patil said that since Mr. Yatnal was contesting as an Independent, he supported him only to defeat the BJP in the polls. “He is only daydreaming because in reality, he will never become Chief Minister again,” Mr. Siddaramaiah said.

He took a jibe at BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa who had said that he would become the Chief Minister soon. “He is only daydreaming because in reality, he will never become Chief Minister again,” Mr. Siddaramaiah said. He refuted the claim that some Congress legislators were in touch with BJP. M.B. Patil, former Minister, who was present, asserted that he was not pressurising the Congress high command to offer a Ministry to him. “The Congress high command knows everything about me and the works I did during my tenure as Water Resources Minister. The party will take an appropriate decision in this regard,” he said. With regard to supporting former MLC Basanagouda Patil Yatnal in the last MLC elections, Mr. Patil admitted that he supported the victory of Mr. Yatnal. Defending his action, Mr. Patil said that since Mr. Yatnal was contesting as an Independent, he supported him only to defeat the BJP in the polls.
