He won gold in the 1,500 metres freestyle; 400 metres freestyle; 50 metres nutterfly; 200 metres breaststroke; 100 metres breaststroke; 200 metres butterfly and 200 metres individual medley. Royston Rodrigues, a first B.Com student of St. Philomena College, Puttur, bagged the individual championship in swimming in the Mangalore University inter-collegiate swimming championship held at Mangaluru recently. Mr. Rodrigues won seven golds, five silvers and three bronze medals. A swimmer from Puttur Aquatic Club, Mr. Rodrigues is being coached by Partha Varanashi, Niroop G.R, Rohith and Krishna at the Balawana Swimming Pool, Puttur and at St. Alosius Pool, Mangaluru. The Swimming Competition was held at the Corporation Pool at Mangala Stadium, said a release here.
