MTR partners with Akshay Patra Foundation to provide 10-lakh mid-days

MANGALURU: MTR Foods Pvt Ltd as part of its Namma Makkalu Namma MTR programme , on Thursday partnered with the Akshay Patra Foundation to provide more than 10-lakh mid-day meals to 6000 children from 60 schools in Surathkal and Mangaluru for next 12-months. CSR programme is aimed at providing nutritious meals to children to ensure they stay in schools and become productive members of society. In 2018, the initiative was extended to a further 4000 children in the areas of Mangalore and Surathkal. In total, MTR will be sponsoring nutritious meals for more than 6000 children in 60 schools this year, noted Sanjay Sharma.It is our purpose to bring sustained and enduring change to lives of children. Sanjay Sharma , CEO, MTR inaugurated the third consecutive year of the programme at NITK, Surathkal with Sundeep Talwar, CMO, The Akshaya Patra Foundation.The programme was launched in 2015 to provide nutritious food to underprivileged children and partnership with Akshaya Patra Foundation helped feed nearly 2000 children in 20 schools in the first year.
