Man held with banned drug worth Rs 3.15 lakh in Mangaluru

MANGALURU: Sleuths of City Crime Branch (CCB) on Thursday nabbed a person who was attempting to sell the banned Methylene Dioxy Methamphetamine (MDMA) tablets. Sleuths seized a mobile phone, digital weighing device and cash from the accused. The total value of all the items seized from him is Rs 3.20 lakh. Suresh said police have gathered information that the accused was selling this banned tablets to many people across the city and investigation is on in this regard. The accused was handed over to Kankanady Town PS for further action.

MANGALURU: Sleuths of City Crime Branch (CCB) on Thursday nabbed a person who was attempting to sell the banned Methylene Dioxy Methamphetamine (MDMA) tablets. Based on a tip-off that a person was attempting to sell MDMA tablets, the sleuths zeroed in on Muhammad Shafi, 32, a resident of Katipalla, Surathkal and recovered 90grams of MDMA tablets valued at Rs 3.15 lakh from his possession, T R Suresh, city police chief, said.The accused, used to source the tablets from Mumbai and sell it locally. Sleuths seized a mobile phone, digital weighing device and cash from the accused. The total value of all the items seized from him is Rs 3.20 lakh. Suresh said police have gathered information that the accused was selling this banned tablets to many people across the city and investigation is on in this regard. The accused was handed over to Kankanady Town PS for further action.
