Single window system for building, layout approvals from Dec 15: Khader

MANGALURU: Minister for urban development and housing U T Khader said the government will introduce a single window system for building/ layout plan approvals in urban areas across the state. “It is a first of its kind scheme in India that allows developers of residential and commercial buildings to obtain approvals through a single window. In the new system, there will be a time-frame and the approvals will be given in a coordinated manner by various departments. The new system, which will reduce the burden on those who want to develop commercial and residential projects , will be inaugurated by chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and others on December 15.All types of building licence approvals will be done through the single window system within a specified period. All the processes for the clearance, including spot inspection, will be done digitally through the dedicated online software,” said Khader.

Plans will be approved and building licences will be issued without any hassles if documents are in order,” he said.“All necessary clearances including no objection certificate from the department of fire and emergency services will also be given through the system. The respective department will be held responsible for any kind of delay. Applicants will be given necessary information regarding the status of applications through SMS. All the processes for the clearance, including spot inspection, will be done digitally through the dedicated online software,” said Khader. The scheme will be introduced in 4-5 cities on a pilot basis initially, and it will be commenced in all urban local body limits in the state within a month, he added.
