The accused were refilling LPG cylinders supplied by oil marketing companies for pecuniary gains.Police arrested Prashanth, 32, of Bolar and Sadashiv Rai, 46, of Kaikamba, near B C Road in Bantwal taluk and seized 17 refilled LPG cylinders and 136 empty cylinders. The places raided include the Bolar and Jeppu market premises . Police also seized equipment used by the accused to refill the empty cylinders, a pick-up jeep and a goods autorickshaw. Mangaluru: Sleuths of the City Crime Branch along with personnel from the department of food and civil supplies and jurisdictional police jointly raided two places under the Mangaluru South police station limits where LPG cylinders were being refilled illegally on Saturday. The total value of items seized is Rs 6.44 lakh.
