Youngster accidentally touching girl invites the wrath of youths from her community

MANGALURU: A youth who had gone shopping to a mall on K S Rao Road was assaulted by a group of 10-15 youths on Monday. The youngster who had been assaulted sustained injuries and was admitted to a hospital where doctors are keeping him under observation.Shantharaju told TOI that the youth does not have any visible injury marks. Police, rushed to the spot on receiving information of the incident, and took the youth into custody. K M Shantharaju , DCP (Law and Order) told TOI that the youth Prateek (name changed) was shopping at a food store chain and in the process of exiting the billing counter, brushed against a girl from another community.Objecting to the same, a group of youths from the girl's community started beating Prateek. "However, the doctor advised that Prateek be kept under observation to make sure that all the jostling and beating did not cause any internal damage which could be life threatening," he said.A case has been registered against the accused youths in Mangaluru North Police Station.
