Retired officer sentenced for taking bribe

The Lokayukta Court in Mangaluru has sentenced a retired district officer of Khadi and Gramodyoga Board for demanding and accepting bribe and sentenced him to one year imprisonment and imposed a fine of ? 15,000. Lokayukta Judge and III District and Sessions Judge Muralidhara Pai, who heard the case, pronounced the orders of sentence and conviction. Bhaskar Prabhu, now 67, was found guilty of demanding and accepting ? 10,000 bribe from P.J. He was arrested by the then Lokayukta Police Inspector Uday Nayak on June 26, 2009.
