Police seize country-made bombs used for hunting

The Hebri police arrested three persons for allegedly manufacturing and having in possession country-made bombs reportedly used for hunting animals in the forests. The police will also arrest others said to be involved in the preparation of country-made bombs, he said. He reportedly confessed to having used bombs for hunting animals in the forests. The police seized three country-made explosives and a motorcycle from Gunakar Shetty and Lakshman Shetty. Gunakar Shetty reportedly confessed to having sold 30 country-made explosives to Nayak at ? 15,000.

According to a press release, Hebri Police Sub-Inspector Jagannath T.T. and his team stopped a motorcycle in Shivapura village on Tuesday and found 30 bombs in the luggage carrier. Confession The carrier also had a torch that could be tied to the head, a machete and a raincoat. The police arrested Nagesh Nayak (35), the motorcyclist, and questioned him. He reportedly confessed to having used bombs for hunting animals in the forests. Based on his information, the Hebri Police on Wednesday arrested Gunakar Shetty (56) of Ardi village and Lakshman Shetty (67) of Albady village on the charge of manufacturing country bombs for Nayak. Gunakar Shetty reportedly confessed to having sold 30 country-made explosives to Nayak at ? 15,000. The police seized three country-made explosives and a motorcycle from Gunakar Shetty and Lakshman Shetty. Talking to reporters, Superintendent of Police of Udupi district Sanjeev M. Patil said that the police have information about persons from whom the accused have procured material for preparing the bombs. He said that they too will be booked. The police will also arrest others said to be involved in the preparation of country-made bombs, he said. All the three accused persons have been booked under Section 9B of the Explosives Act 1884 and under Sections 4 (B) and 5 (A) of the Explosive Substances Act 1908.
