Traffic diversions in place for two days in Meerut, entry of heavy vehicles barred

The entry of heavy vehicles in the city has been barred starting Saturday afternoon.“The heavy vehicles coming from Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar will not be allowed to enter Meerut from Dadri via National Highway. Meanwhile, heavy vehicles coming from Shamli will not be allowed to enter Meerut from Meerut-Sardhana road. The heavy vehicles coming from Delhi, Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad will not get entry in city from the national highway connecting via Moiuddinpur. All these vehicles will be diverted from Shamli,” said Meerut SP traffic Sanjeev Bajpai.“Heavy vehicles coming from Baghpat district’s Baraut area will not get entry in Meerut from Khiwai-Rohta road and Jani road. They will be diverted via Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad,” said Meerut SSP Manzil Saini.

Meerut: Ahead of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s biggest ever mega congregation in Meerut’s Jagriti Vihar, which is set to see 3.1 lakh RSS members at the spot on Sunday, Meerut traffic police has brought route diversions in place starting Saturday 12 pm, which will remain until Sunday midnight.The diversions will ensure that the city remains traffic free as people from 14 districts will be gathering here and will start coming from Saturday. The entry of heavy vehicles in the city has been barred starting Saturday afternoon.“The heavy vehicles coming from Saharanpur and Muzaffarnagar will not be allowed to enter Meerut from Dadri via National Highway. These vehicles will be diverted from Muzaffarnagar and Saharanpur to other routes. Meanwhile, heavy vehicles coming from Shamli will not be allowed to enter Meerut from Meerut-Sardhana road. All these vehicles will be diverted from Shamli,” said Meerut SP traffic Sanjeev Bajpai.“Heavy vehicles coming from Baghpat district’s Baraut area will not get entry in Meerut from Khiwai-Rohta road and Jani road.
