Man kills brother over who gets food served first; arrested

Meerut: A 22-year-old man allegedly murdered his elder brother over who would get food served first in Bulandshahr late on Saturday night. On Monday, the murderer, Sachin Singh was arrested and confessed that he had committed the crime in the heat of the moment. He has confessed that the murder occurred in the heat of the moment and he had no plan to kill his brother. The two brothers got into a fight with each other when Sachin got furious over not being served first. This being said, he has to be handled according to the law,” said Mishra.

On Monday, the murderer, Sachin Singh was arrested and confessed that he had committed the crime in the heat of the moment. The 22-year-old had stabbed his elder brother, Manish Singh (25) with a knife used for cutting vegetables when the former had got furious that Manish’s wife served food to her husband first, and then to him.Dhananjay Mishra, station house officer, Kotwali police station said, “The murder occurred late on Saturday night when the family was sitting together to have food. Manish’s wife was serving it to the family members. The two brothers got into a fight with each other when Sachin got furious over not being served first. In the heat of the moment, they scuffled with each other and Sachin picked up the knife kept near him to cut vegetables and stabbed his brother with it.”Soon after the murder in Hari Enclave of Bulandshahr’s Kotwali area, Sachin Singh fled the house. His family rushed Manish to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. A case was then filed against Sachin under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Kotwali police station.“On Monday, after a day-long search operation, Sachin was arrested from a city area. He has confessed that the murder occurred in the heat of the moment and he had no plan to kill his brother. This being said, he has to be handled according to the law,” said Mishra.
