Muzaffarnagar: A 13 years old girl was held captive and allegedly raped by a village quack for three days in Jansath area of Muzaffarnagar. The matter came to the fore when the girl escaped from the clutches of the 30-year-old man and reached police station on Saturday. The accused, Sonu Verma, was nabbed by police in a raid and sent to jail after registration of a case under sections of IPC and POSCO Act.Ajay Sahdev, superintendent of police (rural), said, “The accused was produced before magistrate and sent to jail. The girl’s statement will be recorded soon.”The minor was missing since Tuesday. The family said that after searching for three days, they went to Jansath police station to file a missing complaint.According to police, the girl went to the doctor for medicines on Tuesday.“Verma gave her some tablets to eat, after which she fell unconscious. Then Verma took the girl to Jansath village in a car and kept her captive for three days. She was kept on sedatives,” the victim’s father said.
