Police have arrested three persons from Muzaffarnagar on Wednesday for allegedly slitting the throat of a three-year-old girl. The accused include the parents of the girl.Police said that the body of the victim was recovered from a sugarcane field. Preliminary inquiry revealed that the parents and their associate had taken the girl to a sugarcane field where they allegedly murdered her and dumped the body. Later, they lodged a police complaint claiming that the girl’s uncle had abducted her.On information, police rushed to the spot and detained the victim’s father based on eyewitness accounts.Talking to TOI, rural SP Ajay Sahadev said, “Confessing to the crime, the main accused said that he wanted to frame his brother Nouman due to a previous dispute. Earlier, his wife had lodged a rape complaint against her brother-in-law. The case is still going on.”“As police are still investigating the rape case, the accused killed their daughter with the help of a friend and alleged that Nouman was responsible for the murder,” he added.
