Devender Rai, one of the team members, told TOI, “We have been toiling all day to locate missing persons in a lonely stretch of 8km. The administration hasn’t even made provision for clean drinking water for us. Ganga water is too muddy because of soil erosion on both sides.”Another rescuer echoed Rai’s sentiment and said, “This is not fair to us. We deserved to be treated better.”Meanwhile, an NDRF boat also capsized during the search and rescue work on Saturday. However, no one died or suffered injuries. “At least a tanker with clean water should have reached us,” said a team member.NDRF and PAC teams are working hard in the river to locate the eight missing women.A boat carrying 27 people had capsized in the overflowing Ganga near Daivalgarh village in Bijnor district on Friday afternoon. So far two people have been confirmed dead in the tragedy, while eight others are missing.Daivalgarh residents said that when the villagers informed the district administration about the incident, police and administrative officials rushed to the spot, but they were empty handed. They had no equipment, no motorboat, not even live jackets.Meanwhile, no one from the administration was willing to comment on the issue.
