Bijnor: Amroha police on Friday arrested three historysheeters who have a dozen cases registered against them after a gun battle in which a constable and a gangster were injured. The gang used to rob commuters on roads in Amroha and Moradabad districts.Giving details, Amroha SP SK Singh said, “Acting on a tip-off, police started checking vehicles near Sherpur bridge. The team spotted four men on two motorcycles coming towards them. When they were asked to stop, they fled with police on their heels. The gangsters then opened fire at the policemen. A constable, Anuj Kumar, and a gangster, Sandeep, were injured. Police finally managed to arrest Sandeep at Nawadpura village and another gangster, Bablu, at Puranpur village in Amroha district. The third gangster, Mohit, was arrested from Ekata colony in Moradabad district. Their fourth accomplice escaped.”A pistol, four live and four used cartridges, two countrymade weapons, Rs 21 lakh cash, a motorcycle and ID cards were seized from their possession, Singh added.
